…is Hope and Love, for sure!
Jess Quinton, co-founder of Quinton and Chadwick, shares a little more love with us.
How many pairs of gloves from your collection do you own?
I’ve lost count!! We loved our LOVE & HOPE gloves this year!
What was your inspiration for this year’s designs?
Suffolk, the different organic forms and colours in nature on the beaches.
What’s new in the world of sustainable textiles?
There is lots of innovation mostly in recycling and re-use. I’m interested in the re-spinning of fibres, especially old knitwear that is basically undone and respun.
Who or what did you LOVE in 2022?
I loved getting out of London to Suffolk and walking on the beach then eating fish and chips on the steps of someone’s beach hut. It’s so refreshing to put space between me and my workplace, to come back to it with a fresh eye.
And what will you HOPE for in 2023?
I hope to expand the collection, make more menswear, and continue working on exciting collaborations.
Any new high-profile fans?
This year we’ve had some lovely people such as @middleagedminx, DJ presenter actress Jo Good, Paloma Faith, and Annie Lennox (they are Scottish made!) wearing our scarves.
Holiday tips?
TV: I intend to watch Slow Horses and Bad Sisters, as both come highly recommended.
Pastime: We always play charades and have the best laughs.
Activity: New Year’s Eve Fireworks on the beach if we are in Suffolk or in London, finding somewhere high to watch them Like Ally Pally or The Barbican Tower.
2023 for Q&C will be…
Ever Brighter and Ever Better
