One week tomorrow, it’s Halloween!
Following two quiet trick or treat years, Monday 31st could see quite a turnout of little munchkins banging on our doors. You leave a lit pumpkin outside to signal you’re happy with this, of course, but we love it and have bulk bought sweets from a nearby wholesaler in preparation.
We’ve plenty of sweets to go around, so we’ll be giving them away to customers all day on on Monday 31st. Adults welcome đź‘»
Here’s a list of mostly local Halloween happenings:
- Have you read Stephen King’s short story, “Crouch End”? We’ll be giving this audio version a whirl.
- Pickled Pepper Books on Middle Lane has a 8+ author event for the Rules for Vampires tomorrow, Monday 24th.
- The Picture House is showing (the 39% Rotten Tomatoes rated) “Halloween Ends” all week.
- Lauderdale House at Highgate is home to a 45-minute Spooky Walk family trail.
- The London Gay Men’s Chorus, Europe’s largest LGBT+ choir, bring their spooktacular Halloween Ball to Alexandra Palace for a Halloween pop singalong at the weekend.
- Saturday 29th sees the annual Crouch End Halloween business trail, 1-4pm.
- Dump the kids and get out to the Railway Tavern’s creepy cocktail Halloween party.
- Or the Harringay Arms, opposite us, which has a Halloween Drag Night with prizes.
- And we can rely on the wonderful Dunn’s Bakery to bake up some wonderful Halloween cupcakes!
- Leave north for south London and do some charitable good walking the mean streets of London, with this Halloween Walk fun fundraiser. Opt for the 10k, half or full marathon loop, starting in the afternoon from The Oval. Zombie rest stops, macabre medals and Devil’s fizz. Challenge options start at £15.
Dress the part in ghoulish orange and black. We’ve chunky knits, flannel shirts, cotton socks and woollen hats.
